Access to the oral modality of the web site.The University of Lucerne, founded in 2000, is the youngest university in Switzerland, however, its academic roots stretching back to the 17th century. A dynamic and aspiring higher education institution, it offers students a high quality experience in a very personal and supportive environment.
The university's academic teaching and research activities are done in departments organised in three faculties: Law, Humanities and Social Sciences, and Theology. Study programmes range from law, sociology, cultural studies, philosophy, study of religions, anthropology, history, and politics to Jewish studies and theology. Numerous combined degrees and various integrated degrees emphasise the strongly interdisciplinary approach.
As the only university in Central Switzerland it is situated in the heart of the beautiful city of Lucerne (www.luzern.ch). The cultural and leisure offers of the city with theatre, museums or the Kultur- und Kongresszentrum Luzern, but also Lake Lucerne and the surrounding mountains contribute to an attractive study environment.
