The Zurich-Basel Plant Science Center is a competence center in the field of plant sciences and embodies an interdisciplinary association of cooperating scientists from eight different institutes at three universities (ETH Zurich, University of Zurich, University of Basel). For its doctoral students the PSC offers the opportunity to obtain broader and interdisciplinary skills and qualifications. Goals of the Graduate Program are:
Providing doctorate students with a fundamental insight into the variety of conceptual and technical approaches of scientific research in the field of plant sciences.
Offering doctorate students access to the broad competences and the large infrastructure base of the member institutes.
Connecting different fields of knowledge and conveying latest scientific insights.
Enhancing the interdisciplinary research competence of doctorate students in the field of plant science.
Providing doctorate students with the opportunity to acquire non-scientific knowledge and skills for their future scientific and professional careers. E.g. project management, methods of leadership and management, communication techniques.

Length of the programme
A Master's degree or equivalent in natural sciences from a recognized university.
